DEMI-HUMAN HISTORY
Dragons, Giants, and Lizardmen all have very detailed and unique histories that make for fascinating reading, but for the purposes of this brief introduction a few words on the main demi-human and human races' origins will suffice. The Forerunner Races (Aboleth, Elves, Dwarves, Aarakocra and Bullywugs) have both oral and physical remains on Trishore that predate all other races. Much of this earliest history is lost, or known only to a few members of each race. Their histories are ancient beyond human ken. It is not clear in many cases how (by divine intervention, evolution, magic, etc.) or even when (or for that matter in what order) the other main races appeared, but it is clear that by the time Humans first appear on the historical record about 12,000 years ago, virtually all of the main races known today were already established.
This alone has lead to misunderstanding and conflict, as the fast-growing and new-fledged Humans compete for space with races far older than they, while perceiving that as the latecomers to this world that it was somehow "made just for them" and their use. Despite the occasional losses to Humanoids and conflicts with other Demi-Human races, Humans have proven fecund and can now be found in virtually every corner of the world. Firefall and the Yetdark stand out as periods of great Human trial and retreat, proving that their relatively recent ascension may yet prove short-lived.
