- Race War Slaughter
- A five year period of unbridled bloodletting and carnage that started in 2790 PF. Burdue and Mantaten humans, and Yayethian
Elves were all guilty of horrible crimes, but none were worse than the virtual destruction of almost one
million Fire Clan worshippers by Burdue PO fanatics.
- Rank, Deities and Gods
- Deities or Gods are ranked as either Greater, Intermediate or Lesser. This is a direct reflection of their number of worshippers. The end result
is that those who have more worshippers may grant their most skilled Priests more powerful spells, may create more Avatars (and create them more rapidly),
and may grant their Priests more abilities. While it drains the Deity to do these things, Priests can sway worshippers to pray to their God, thus providing
more power in a synergistic cycle.
Greater gods do not always have the largest absolute number of worshippers. Where they are the creater or "senior" member of a pantheon they
indirectly receive some portion of the total prayer power. The very nature of their having a senior role dictates that they be included in the thoughts of
those petitioning the Gods in at least some small way.
Thus, a Lesser God might be the most popular God by far in a small region, or might have their worship spread very thinly over a large area. But it would be
very unlikely that this Lesser God would the founding member of the Pantheon. Given this concept of shared worshipper power, a Lesser God who was also the founder
of the Pantheon might represent a newly founded set of Gods beginning to ascend in power, or Deity structure waning in support and at risk of disappearing altogether.
- Razorthorn
- A very hardy but slow growing plant, reaching about 15 cm in diameter at most. It has only 3 curved, low-laying leaves, that
are edged with a very fragile but inbelievably sharp sides. Brushing alongside them can slice open even the toughest leather. It
grows in northerly woods (most commonly throughout the Kingdom of Cardorna) that are rich in humus and other leaf litter. After the
first frost it sends up a single gold flower, which if pollinated creates only a few seeds. However, these seeds are hardy too, and
can last for decades on the forest floor until the right growth conditions again occur.
