HUMANOIDS

ORCS

Intelligent creatures with two arms, bi-pedal and roughly human looking, but largely uncivilized, and predominantly evil are usually grouped under a catch-all term of Humanoid. Perhaps orcs call various human types "Orcoid", but that is not an issue for this document. This grouping however belies the great variety in physical and mental characteristics that define each race. They may indeed be "human-like monsters", but understanding them well would require many lifetimes.

The following pages will provide great detail on the main Humanoid races. The list is by no means complete, but focuses particularly on the most common. Of special note are the orcs, creatures that in some ways define our world as other worlds are defined by climate, geography or size. Their fecundity and appetite have fundimentally altered Trishore. From the mere presence of walled cities and towns (why walls with our dragons and mages if not to keep out the orcs), to the collapse of entire empires, orcs make us who we are unlike virtually any other force on all of Seteria.

As the elvish sage Altonis Biral wrote, "as the waters wash the mountains to the seas, so the orcs will wash our lands with blood." He died in the orcish sack of the original Ald Bured in 3827 PF.

Reader warning: some of the detail in the descriptions is graphic and unsettling. These are not pleasant creatures by any decent standard, and their practices and habits may disturb some readers. Please use your discretion in reviewing these pages.
