ADVENTURE HOOKS
|
The bright and shining light of Trishorian politics and nobility, the realm and its rulers are generally enlightened and fair.
They are if anything over-generous, too trusting and the butt of endless jokes told by those who abuse their good will. Ethically
they are a thorn in the Magedom's side, and militarily the Andronese fleet contests regularly with the Pirate of Tarakus (Magedom privateers).
They must also defend against land-based threats, particularly in the marshes around their capital, Orc raids near Temphur, and along the banks
of the Tirzon River which marks their northern border.
This is done with a moderate sized, but well trained standing army of about 8,000 troops.
Light archers, medium troops with polearms, light mounted archer/scout troops, and their skilled heavy foot troops augment a small core of elite
heavy mounted troops. A few special brigades, including one of Pegasus-mounted raiders round out the mix. Priests of Kolvoss and Sefeldt in
particular also provide support to all units.
BACKGROUND
There is no record of human habitation in this region until after Firefall, when Klingot Province survivors migrated downstream along the
Silverflow River. These Sapoy hunter-gatherers were on good terms with local Elves, but did regular battle with local humanoids and Snow
Nomads from the West. Fortifications were built along the Tirzon River during the time of the Haz Imperium (2520 - 2588) to help guard the
riverine supply line from the Steel Confederation to Dwelvenhall, and to deny Haz the resources further south of this line. They were
abandoned during the Dry Years (ca. 2600) which followed. The area was again pivotal as the site of a major Psionic Oligarchy victory over
the Fire Clan forces during the battle of Tirzon Bay in 2782, but the region itself was not yet a political powerhouse. The founding of the
Archendian Empire about 3350 marked the area's rise to preeminence. The Kingdom itself has its beginnings with the decline of the Archendian
Empire and the granting of Free-City status by Emperor Neris "The Fair" to Belecost in 3468. The relation between church and state
is quite blurred here, as the Kings are reared from childhood by the Sefeldt temples where they are found, apparently abandoned.
