HUMAN "KINDREDS"

MANTATEN

These were the first humans in this part of Trishore, and they largely are Lysturgian Mythos worshippers. Big boned and heavy jointed, Mantaten are not noted for their mental acuity. Commonly they are on good terms with dwarves. Like the Sapoy their young are born asexual, with sex only being determined by chance at the "time of change" (between 10-14 years of age). Their preference in most cases is to govern themselves in smaller family groups and clan structures, and while there are obvious exceptions to this, Mantaten will usually chafe under a strong central authority. Their mother tongue is Mantagish.
APPEARANCE:
They tend towards straight hair of a light colour, with hazel, grey or olive eyes and a dark complexion (which tans well). Average height is about 67". Kindred regions with little outside influence still practice ritual scarification (e.g. Seaholders and Snow Nomads).

SAPOY

Slim with elongated features, Sapoy are said to look "deep in thought". They are mostly worshippers of the Andronese Mythos. They seem to get along well with elves. Like the Mantaten their young are born asexual, with sex only being determined by chance at the "time of change" (between 10-14 years of age). Their tendency is to accept or create authority and to prefer a well structured and organized culture. Their mother tongue is Valish.
APPEARANCE:
They usually have very dark curly hair and dark brown skin. Eye colour ranges from dark brown to black and even purple. Average height is around 70". In areas where Kindred influences still exist (e.g. Kingdom of Cadorna and Orb Nomads) it is common to see ears, noses and even lips pierced for adornment, with gems or gold set in them.
ABILITY SCORE ADJUSTMENTS
+1 WIS and -1 CON to all scores between 8-14 points

BURDUE

While Burdue tend to be short and usually look very pudgy, they also tend to have fast reflexes and nimble fingers. They are almost exclusively worshippers of Ehthos, except in countries where their slave-masters forbid it. Most feel comfortable around Halflings or Gnomes. Their children are born as either male or female, but are treated as equals in adulthood (unlike the Ylthic humans). For both reasons of culture and history they are isolationistic and prefer the utmost freedom possible in any political or social structures they create. At least one of their languages has been strongly influenced by other languages, but their mother tongue is known as Thralish.
APPEARANCE:
Fair skin and complexions, with blue or green eyes and blond hair are most common. Average height is around 64". In "unmixed" areas (e.g. Carabellum Clans and Sensanoll) shaving of all facial hair (including brows) is done by males.
ABILITY SCORE ADJUSTMENTS
+1 DEX and -1 CHR to all scores between 8-14 points
PREFERRED ADVENTURER CLASSES:

YLTHIC

Commonly barrel-chested and ruddy, Ylthic humans tend to act first and discuss later (if ever). They worship the Ylthic Pantheon, and disdain all other religions. They find much to like in Half-Orcs, once the "taint" of full Orcishness is gone. Their children are born as either male or female. In general they are wild and unruly, but readily defer to any power they recognize as superior or physically stronger (meaning that in Ylthic society women are often given low importance). They have limited regard for subtlety or charm. Their mother tongue is Domodese.
APPEARANCE:
Freckles, wavy fair or even red hair and fair skin with yellow or blue-green eyes are noted Ylthic characteristics. Average height is around 74". In areas where original Kindred traditions are maintained (e.g. Calandesia), male circumcision at age 12 is the norm.
ABILITY SCORE ADJUSTMENTS
+1 CON and -1 WIS to all scores between 8-14 points
PREFERRED ADVENTURER CLASSES:
