ANDRONESE MYTHOS
PRIEST HIERARCHICAL TITLES

Andronese Priests use the term "level" rather loosely. It does denote skill and ability to summon spells from their Deity, but it also connotes hierarchical power, for each Deity has a structure within their church. Below is the list of titles that are used for various layers of responsibility. Some Gods do not require as much structure as others, and thus will have the same title cover a broader range of potential responsibilities.

The strictness of the reporting and the degree of freedom afforded the Priests at the next layer(s) down is largely a function of the Priest at the next level up. Some are very strict, others very lax. Some are very picky about matters of etiquette and religious process, others not so, but beware confusing the two.

Promotions from one hierarchical level to another tend to be based more on relationships and experience than pure skill level. While this sometimes makes for leaders without high-level spells, the reverse can be true as well. It is not uncommon for a less popular or less driven Priest to be left behind, and wind up being quite skilled but merely running a small shrine.
