Shield of the Meredom Farers THE MEREDOM FARERS Shield of the Meredom Farers

MAPS

Rocky islands in a shallow sea, at the mouth of the busy inner waterways of the Firefall and Samarkand seas, have produced a realm of sturdy sailors. Less inclined towards trade (having few natural resources of their own), they instead use the sea as their larder and source of limited wealth. Living in stockaded villages in virtually every bay that has a source of fresh water, they revel in the warm and bountiful waters around them. However, this is no island paradise: Crabmen, Sauhagin and worse dwell in the waters near them as well.

BACKGROUND

Originally these isles were home to dozens of large family-based Mantaten tribes, living off the rich, warm seas that surrounded them. As relations with the Viphor Dominion faltered they added to these riches by raiding and pirating the nearby sea lanes, and aided by their speedy catamarans and the numerous inlets and hidden bays, they became very successful. To this day inhabitants of what used to be dawnward portions of the Viphor Dominion (Onuin Holdings) are rarely given quarter at sea. Even more recently "outsider" pirates and brigands have erected small forts and holds in less accessible areas, giving the Meredom Farer lands the reputation of being a pirate kingdom.
