The Onuin Holdings and the Meredom Farers were once part of one, much larger land known as the Viphor Dominion. This Sulose-speaking, largely Mantaten power held sway over much of central Trishore from 3200 to 3500 PF. Founded by Lysturgian Clergy about 3100, the memory of the Yetdark was
still so strong that not only did the Clergy (as opposed to the Priesthood) rule this Theocracy, they insisted on a strongly Lawful deity/god-head, namely Nimer.
This worked well for a long time, but gradually the more Lawful-EVIL element became preeminent. Moreoever, as the Viphor Dominion's power and wealth had grown, the more strongly mantaten (and less resource rich) "Western Provinces" had profited less than the "Eastern Provinces". This created real friction between what would become present-day Meredom Farers (West) and Onuin Holdings (East). Stuck in the middle, and becoming more
evil by the day, the Capital city of Andril sought more and more control. They resorted to terror tactics and unspeakable deeds in order to try and maintain their rule. The first outcome was that even today the "East" and "West" are unfriendly.
The second outcome was the destruction of the Capital and ultimately the collapse of this state. What actually happened is unclear, for there are few surviving records and even fewer Sages today who still read Sulose (which today is effectively only a spoken language). It appears however, that the entire COLLIAT joined together to destroy this growing evil, and desertified the entire peninsula on which Andril rested.
