ANDRONESE MYTHOS
THE HISTORIES

This book is the Holy Symbol for Priests of Shelcor, and can be found in its basic form in every temple save those of Jinat (who dispute the book's veracity).

It is known by several others names. Non-worshippers know the book as "The Andronese Histories", while who worship Shelcor call it "Shelcor's Book". Worshippers of Jinat denigrate its importance by calling it "The Logs".

In its basic format, The Histories contain the story of Creation through Shelcor, the birthing of his family, and the creation of life and intelligence on Seteria. Although the basic format can take any type of binding, it is revered to varying degrees by all Andronese Priests (save Jinat), so it will usually be well cared for.

The basic format also includes the History of the Gods' lives, and explains Kolvoss' Hammer and immunities, Jinat's aversion to Oak and Ash, and many other aspects of the Mythos. It is with this section that Priests of Jinat have the most disputes.

The Personalized version of The Histories is found only with a Priest of Shelcor. It contains not only the basic book, but also a sort of diary started by that Priest on the day of their acceptance into Shelcor's Priesthood.

Each Personalized History will be guarded by its owner to the death, and is given over to a Shelcorian Temple only after its owner's demise. They contain musings, observations, daily records, and sometimes even descriptions of magic or spells. Personalized Histories, as a Holy Symbol, will be in the best (and most durable, valuable and attractive) binding the Priest can afford, and it will be "upgraded" as often as possible.
