ANDRONESE MYTHOS

PANTHEON DETAILS

ORIGIN STORY

Forever there had been a world of rock and water, sun and air, never changing and balancing each of the four. Bound within their realms was one who knew that he knew, and desired for change, desired for something more. He struggled without time and won his way free, for he was change that was change. With his time came time of change, and rock and water, sun and air were forever changed.

In his bosom he carried the seeds, and he tore them forth with great cries and much bloodshed. Where his blood touched there sprang forth all forms of life, from plants to animals, insects to fish, and all manner of creature great and small. But his cries so startled the beasts that they grew afraid, and in their fear they tore at one another, and so it was that tooth and claw were forever the way.

Of the seeds he knew more. First came a son, whom he bathed in his blood in a cradle of oak, who looked at the beasts and said, "though they war with tooth and claw, that is their way. But those who choose another way shall walk my path, and I will cherish their spirits forever in my way," and he was known as Federdall. Then came a daughter, whom he bathed in his tears in a cradle of ash, who saw the beasts and said, "their pain is my pain, and though that is their way, I will comfort and heal them forever in my way," and she was known as Sefeldt. Third came another son, whom he bathed in his sweat in a cradle of oak, who looked at the beasts and said, "the mightier of the beasts is that which suffers least from the others, and that is their way. I will teach those who wish the mightier way, and aid them forever in my way," and he was known as Kolvoss. Last came another daughter, whom he bathed not at all in a cradle of stone, who looked at the beasts and said, "they are but beasts, and if I desire their tooth or claw I have but to take it. They are here but to please me, and if they do not I will punish them forever," and she was known as Jinat.

From the start each child was different in their own way, and from their cradle they were strong. Jinat however had a core of stone, and she was forever jealous of her older sister and claimed her heart was of the richest gems. The brothers were much alike, but Federdall chose the path, and Kolvoss chose the way.

Over their differences their Father spoke, and told them, "the beasts are what they are, and their way is their way. I wonder at you as I wonder at them, for they are now part of me as you once were. You are you as they are they, and my only sway is that of your Father forever," and he was known as Shelcor.

DEITY DESCRIPTIONS

The earliest known Human religion, Andronism is first known to Sages through records of the Sapoy race's migrations about 9,000-10,000 years ago. Sapoy Sages report that the religion evolved from the worship of five basic archetypes: Nature, Guardian of the Dead, Healing, Warfare and the evil Trickster. Over time these powers were personified by people and worshipped, beginning the synergistic relationship of God, Priest and Worshipper. As an early religion there is a focus on elemental forces, with no representation of Magic, Civilization, or other later spheres of worship.

However, the five archetypes have evolved over time, so that the God’s spheres have expanded, and family structure has been formed. Finally, the origin story has been codified, and underscores the focus on natural and martial forces.
