PRIEST DESCRIPTIONS



The charts below recap the details of the Priests and worshippers of the Lysturgian pantheon. There is also detail of their restrictions, expectations and responsibilities. The "Spheres" noted below refer groups of spells from which the Priests may choose and cast their spells. Major Access means that even the most powerful spells may be cast from that Sphere, while Minor Access means that only spells of up to a certain moderate potentcy may cast, even by the most powerful Priest.

All Divination spells' Duration increases by 1 time unit per 2 levels (Pr: @ 3rd ¦ Cl: @ 5th)[e.g. 7th level Clergy casts "Detect Poison" which is normally "1 turn + 1 round per level", but now becomes "1 turn + 3 rounds per level", or 31 rounds], so long as the original spell duration is not "instantaneous"
SPECIALTY SPELLS
VESTMENTS Long loose cotton tunic with black and white checks, under a white cotton robe with black trip and silver embroidered hexagons. Grey cotton or linen leg wraps, with black leather shoes or boots. Left cheek is tattooed with silver hexagon @ 8th, right cheek @ 12th.
RESTRICTIONS INT over 12. Male only. Cannot use scrolls or books in a way that erases them (e.g. cast a spell directly from a scroll).
HOLY SYMBOL Six six-pointed stars around a hexagon (the "Sextile") on a ring, shield, etc.
SACRIFICE Wealth is given to NPC Priest or Temple

VESTMENTS Long white silk tunic interwoven with gold threads and trimmed with a silver border. Tan linen leg wraps with a gold braid border. Gold braid added to shoulder of tunic @ 6th+ Lvl. Brown calfskin boots. Gold or yellow leather or felt skull cap.
RESTRICTIONS Must avoid touching blood that the Priest caused to be spilled/shed. Always give freely to beggers/poor. Always buy "the best" with no haggling
HOLY SYMBOL Thin, 6" diameter gold plate (on pendant, carried by chain, mounted on breastplate, etc.)

Tattoo back of right hand with "flame" @ 4th, left @ 9th, and both cheeks with 3 vertical green stripes @ 14th.
RESTRICTIONS Remain celebate. Must have WIS over 11. Priests must wear their vestments all waking hours unless alone.
HOLY SYMBOL A lit candle, torch, magical spell (see "Endless Flame") or other source of flame.
SACRIFICE Only modest wealth allowed: all else donated to NPC Priest or Temple

RESTRICTIONS STR over 12. Must donate 2 weeks/year to NPC farm(s) at harvest time. CON over 11. Must have a number of ornate Holy Symbols tattooed on body equal to level.
HOLY SYMBOL A mighty rearing winged horse (on a shield, ring, etc.).
SACRIFICE Hand made efforts and/or the fruits of ones labours/craft to local needy NPC or local Temple.

Alignment & Temple infractions are usually punishable by death. Tattoo of "eye" on forehead @ 10th. Grow beard if male, and keep hair long for male or female priests.
HOLY SYMBOL A book with flames coming from the sides ("The Burning Book") on a ring, pendant, etc.
