Klingot Forest
So named because these woods have rung with the sounds of that tongue for untold centuries, it is still one of the few areas where Klingot can still be heard as Cadornian lumbermen ply their trade. The forest is well travelled, well known, and easily traversed in most areas by well worn trails. Its border with the elvish Silnellandar/Fairkin Forest to the west is unclear, but the lumbermen never come too close in any case.
A mixture of maples, elms, birches and stand of white pine and needle-shedding larches, plus abundant wildlife (deer, rabbits, partridge, etc.) make for a rich forest. And despite its use for many years, it is carefully tended and has never been overcut. It is not without its dangers: barkburr is common to the west, aurumvorax to the east, and Illabode raiding parties (orc, orgre and worse) throughout.
"Mossfoot" mushrooms are common here, and harvested illegally to sell at a good profit to local Thieves Guilds to make sarkand. Cadornian Ranger patrols seek out raiding parties from Illabode and mossfoot collectors alike. [See ref. #25 on the MAP]
