"D"

Dalmask
One of the most powerful - and most noble - Mages ever to live on Trishore.

Demnai
Spirits unique to the Andronese Pantheon, Demnai are the helpers of the evil God, Jinat.

Denlor Plains
An enormous, rich expanse of unbroken plainsland along the west side of the Dolomite Mountains and east of Tbnisi River-Sentinel Range line. Adequate rainful, rich soils, access to fresh water and a central location have made this a pivotal region.

Four intertwined human states rule this 3300 km-long expanse. While often considered by outsiders to be one giant nation, the four are: Some call these lands the Denlorian Empire, arguing that these lands have wealth and power second to none (ignoring the incongruity of four states making up one "empire" and overlooking other claimants like the Magedom or the Andron Kingdom). These countries are relative upstarts, and these foundling countries are only just coming into its maturity as nations of traders, entrepreneurs and merchants.

Dewflag
A perennial with a 2’ spherical core surrounded by thick green & white spiky leaves. Blooms only when plant senses moisture in the air and then quickly shoots up 3d2 long (3’) straight shafts tipped with cottony tufts to capture moisture and guide it towards the plant’s roots. Tufts also contain seeds, and when they eventually blow off they spread the seeds. See Medicinal Plants.

Dlear Woods
Actually three different woodlands all within the "bounds" of Fire Clan territories. The locals call them the Hung ("top" or northernmost) Forest, Choy ("middle") Forest [also known as the Forest of Joy in Common], and the Farat ("surf" or southernmost) Forest.
All are relatively dry, and while subject to summer days that can be very hot, some winter nights drop down to almost freezing. Snow is certainly not unheard of, particularly in the Hung Forest. These extreme conditions weed out the less tolerant trees, and limit the growth of those that do survive.
The Hung forest is the most verdant of the three, with the riverine lowlands thich with woody evergreen shrubs, leafy vines (some wild grape), and dense stands of oak and poplar. Above or away from the rivers are pockets of dense, gnarled trees, usually pine, juniper, leafy thornbushes (some over 30' tall) and various species of oak. The hills to the northeast are thick with Dripping Blade Orcs, but the forest itself is largely monster free. In part this is due to the forest being home to Leprechaun clans, atomies and grigs, but having the base for Iltal Gam'boral's Fighting Academy located there likely helps as well.
The Choy forest is considered the most pleasant of the three. Flat, and easier to penetrate that the others, it contains a broad mix of trees suited to its dry and extreme climate. Among its more useful trees are cork oaks, olive trees, occasional fig trees and even a few rare Morning Trees in slightly moister areas. Given these riches, plus numerous sources of spice, human trails cut throughout the forest. The only "natives" are some bandit lairs, a large number of giant skunks, and various colored pseudodragons which lair in all areas of this forest.
Farat forest is strikingly beautiful, in an austere and rocky way. Its southern border with the Samarkand Sea is picturesque, and the infrequent and isolated white-walled towns and villages along the shore stand out against the warm, aqua waters. It is the hilliest of the forests, and virtually impassible in many spots. Evergreen oaks, stone pine and olive trees abound. In every ravine and valley are great masses of thornbushes, very pretty stinging vines, and beautiful flowering nettles. Unexpectedly, the forest is also largely good, but rarely visited: this may be because the inland areas are also the Firbolg homeland, and haven to many clans. [See ref. #29 on the MAP]

Domodese
The Domodese language is the Mother Tongue, or root language, of the Ylthic kindred languages.

Drinen
Wealthy city of some 8500 inhabitants on the east shore of Lake Asino at the mouth of the Tbnisi River. The city is stone-walled with its northern flank further protected by the natural moat of the Alewater River. It is a major trading centre, and along with Jivton and Cipolage it is one of three Regional Council centres. It is also the capital of the Drinen Federation. Given this political importance and wealth , it should come as no surprise to find that it is rife with plots of power, family intrigues and internecine battles.

Drinen Federation
One of the four states on the Denlor Plains, the Drinen Federation is the largest and most powerful. Like its capital city, the Federation is largely self-interested, and driven solely by wealth, trade, and the pride of its mercantile families.

Drow Elves
The Dark Elves. Elves who have turned to Evil, and now live in the dangerous caverns of the Underdark. They are dark skinned and reputed to be masters of Magic. One thing is sure: they are subtle and treacherous.

Dwarvefast Mountain
The Common name for Brugolem.

Dwelvenhall
A place of mystery and legend. Here the Dwarves and Elves worked together for many years to create one of the great wonders of all of Trishore. Destroyed and rebuilt in even greater splendour, it is nearly forgotten today, and its location an even greater unknown to most.
